The NRG Controls brand was quickly established when the doors to NRG Controls, Inc. opened in 1976 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to provide customers with a reputable choice for building controls solutions. Then the company began the transition into pneumatic controls in the mid-1980s until direct digital controls (DDC) became the markets clear choice beginning in the early 1990s. Since the companys inception, NRG Controls has expanded its geographic reach as well as its areas of technical expertise. In the late 1990s, NRG Controls opened an office in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market under the direction of Brian Scandle to bring state-of-the-art controls solutions to organizations in both the public and private sectors in central and northeastern Pennsylvania. NRG Controls North, presently based out of a new corporate office in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, has grown to become the regions premier provider of automatic temperature controls (ATC) and building automation systems (BAS). In recent years, the company expanded its product and services portfolio to also become the preferred partner for state-of-the-art security and lighting controls systems as well as preventative/maintenance services.
