PANDA Neurology and Atlanta Headache Specialists was established in January 2012 by Dr. Frank Berenson and Dr. Robert Flamini. The physicians wanted to build a practice that focues on patient care and quality medicine. We opened our practice with 4 providers and just 4 support staff. We have grown quite a bit; expanding both our space and adding providers. We now have 6 busy providers and 21 support staff. The practice continues to be a premier referral center for Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Epilepsy, and Pediatric and Adult Headache Medicine. Over time we have grown by expanding the number of medical providers, staff and the addition of CIRCA, a large Clinical Research Center. PANDA Neurology offers comprehensive and expert consultation, evaluation and management of your child, adolescent or young adult. Atlanta Headache Specialists offers evaluation and state of the art management of all types of headaches and migraines in adults. As you navigate through our website, you can focus your interest in any of the several components of our practice: PANDA Neurology, Atlanta Headache Specialists, PANDA Epilepsy Care and CIRCA, our clinical research center. All components are interrelated and part of the general practice.

  1. Nursing Care: Nursing Care means assistance provided for the health care needs of sick or disabled individuals, by or under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.
  2. Health care: Health care or healthcare is the improvement of health via the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, amelioration, or cure of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in people.
  3. Patient Care: Patient care refers to the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of physical and mental well-being through services offered by health professionals.
  4. Assisted Living: Assisted living exemplifies the shift from "care as service" to "care as business" in the broader health care arena predicted more than three decades ago. A consumer-driven industry, assisted living offers a wide range of options, levels of care, and diversity of services (Lockhart, 2009) and is subject to state rather than federal regulatory oversight. "Assisted living" means depends on both the state and provider in question: variations in state regulatory definitions are significant and provider variables include everything from philosophy, geographic location and auspice, to organizational size and structure.
  5. CPR: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) combines rescue breathing (mouth-to-mouth) and chest compressions to temporarily pump enough blood to the brain until specialized treatment is available.
