RK&K's Project Controls and Construction Management Division is hiring a Construction Estimator. As an Estimator with RK&K you will develop construction cost estimates for small to large construction projects in various stages of the project lifecycle. Essential Function Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid Executes take-offs of construction documents Inputs take-offs into a computer spreadsheet or estimating program Obtains pricing for materials Obtains bids from subcontractors Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc. Other tasks as assigned Required Skills

My client is family owned Design/Build firm that is looking for a Estimator for commercial construction. Some preferred projects for estimation experience are healthcare facilities, hospitality, education facilities, manufacturing facilities, offices, airport/aviation facilities, restaurants, etc. Must fully understand construction, compile detailed scopes of work, and analyze subcontractor proposals. Acceptable software are PlanSwift, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff or similar prgrams Job Description + Support all aspects of subcontractor and supplier estimating and bidding processes + Attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required + Administration of bidding documents + Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations on each project + Reviewing and understanding of plans and specs + Writing detailed scopes of work + Accurately evaluate / analyze subcontractor pricing + Quality and material takeoffs + Process RFP, RFQ, and internal pricing requests

Position Summary: The Rigging Estimator will provide necessary information as it relates to approximate costs, materials, time for completion, and manpower necessary for specific projects or jobs where rigging is essential. Will work with Project Managers, Sales, and support personnel for accurate scope-of-work information and with Superintendents or Foremen to identify and account for available labor concerns, job hazard analyses, or work delay considerations. Will support estimating teams and operation staff with quotes, booked jobs, and pending and on-going projects.
