The northwest corner of Colorado is an outdoor gem with fly fishing, snowmobiling, hiking and beautiful views. The remoteness of our facility gives our patients the ability to find a peaceful environment that encourages them to heal. Providence opened its doors in Craig, Colorado shouldered on the pioneering spirit of two southerners who have a love of rural areas, appreciate the culture of the west, and have ties to northwest Colorado. They recognized a hidden gem and were moved by the compelling need for addiction treatment repeatedly voiced by the Colorado locals. Having devoted a lifetime to rural healthcare in Mississippi, Jim Blackwood and Dr. David Berry knew they could pull together a team of knowledgeable healthcare minds, develop a program and offer high quality, yet affordable treatment for the people of northwest Colorado they have grown to love. The subsequent team built Providence Recovery from the ground up and opened for business in July 2019. Our compassionate team understands that recovery is challenging with many obstacles to overcome. We strive to make the recovery process comforting and uplifting for our patients. They are not alone. Our collaborations with healthcare professionals, coupled with our extensive background in the medical field, positions us to make the recovery experience all-inclusive and simplistic. A substance use disorder (SUD) is a long-term illness and a complex problem that can happen to anyone. Many factors are considered in the development of the disease, such as psychological traits, stress levels, genetics, or a person's environment. Our team is here to help our patients recover. We offer four, comprehensive and straightforward treatment services to ensure our patients receive a full continuum of care: Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and if needed, a Sober Living Home (SLH).
