After Rita Shklovskaya went through some difficult times in her life, she realized that having assistance from caregivers who cared deeply about her well-being was important. With that in mind she became a caregiver herself. During her years as a caregiver Rita saw a need for more caregivers who would open their hearts and give of themselves to provide loving and quality home care for the elderly and disabled. She understood how difficult it was for these clients who wanted to stay in their homes but were unable to do the necessary tasks of maintaining a healthy environment for themselves. Rita felt that she was able to empathize with these clients. Rita decided to open her own agency and hire caregivers who had the same caring heart that she did and would give the clients the care that she would want for herself if she was in their position. At first, she was not only the owner, but the caregiver, supervisor and business manager all in one. It was difficult to find the right caregivers given her focus on quality care, but she persevered, and the company grew. As the business expanded, Gene Shklovskiy, Ritas husband, left his employment and joined Rita in the Home Service business. As Rita continued to focus on the needs of her clients and the search for the right caregivers, Gene took over the business side of the company, and together it became R.G.U.S. Inc.
