Summary: Scanning personnel perform all functions necessary to prepare and scan any medical records into the Electronic Health Record. This includes prepping the charts by removing staples, repairing tears, taping edges, appropriately labeling both the form and review for proper patient labeling ensuring these documents scan properly. Scanning personnel will scan, index and quality review all patient records for inpatient, emergency department, outpatient surgeries and any/all hospital outpatient departments. In addition, the Health Information Management (HIM) Scanner will scan, index and Quality Assurance (QA) Midland Physician Group (MPG) office documentation. They will have the knowledge of thousands of forms and be able to index those forms so they land in the appropriate place within the Electronic Health Record. The responsibility for this position also includes participation in continuous quality improvement. They must be extremely detail oriented as we are a multiple facility
