Sanico, Inc. provides recycling and solid waste collection services to homes, business and industry in NJ counties of Hunterdon, Morris, and Warren. Jim Smith founded the company in October 1973. With some financial help from his parents, Enid and Henry, he purchased his fleet, consisting of one used rear loading packer garbage truck. Jumping in and out of the truck every day on a small residential collection route, he worked off the route, and went on to acquire other routes in Warren, Morris and Hunterdon counties. After many years of hard work, Sanico (a contraction of sanitation company) employs more than 35 men and women who roll out faithfully every day at 5:00 a.m., to get it PICKED UP! The fleet now consists of 25 trucks and provides residential, commercial, industrial and recycling services.
