General Description of Work: Maintains the health and safety of all patrons in the recreation center Natatorium. Supervision Received: Receives supervision from the Recreation Supervisor and Head Lifeguards. Essential Functions: •Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean swimming pool environment •Responsible for performing necessary rescues on any person needing assistance in the pool •Responsible for light cleaning and maintenance of the pool, steam room, sauna, and locker room areas of the Recreation Center •Responsible for maintaining personal fitness to be able to perform the above functions •Responsible for performing light maintenance and cleaning on the pools and pool areas Minimum Qualifications: •Must possess a current Lifeguard Training certification to include lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and first aid skills •Must be able to complete all swimming skills in correspondence with the lifeguarding exam •Good interpersonal skills to communicate with the
