Saint fans around the world would write to Charteris offering praise, asking questions, and seeking photographs. Desiring to achieve something more productive than just hero-worship, Charteris founded the Saint Club to provide an outlet for fans and, more importantly, raise funds for a childrens hospital in London. Following the nationalization of English hospitals, profits from the activities of the Saint Club were directed to the Arbour Youth Centre in East London, and this support continues even today. The President of the Club is Simon Templar himself. Charteris was the Vice-President until his death in 1993; the current Vice-Presidents are Roger Moore, Ian Ogilvy and Simon Dutton. The Honarary Secretary is Ian Dickerson. OzSaint is run by Vince Dale and Ian Golledge, with the guidance and support of Ian Dickerson. Our aim is to provide a forum for Saint fans in Australia and nearby; to celebrate and discuss the adventures of the 'Robin Hood of Modern Crime'; in all media, to provide exclusive merchandise for Saint fans; and to direct profits to the Arbour Youth Centre.
