Requirements and Responsibilities

Athletic Compliance Manager manages and monitors the compliance system for a university/college's athletic program. Develops procedures and policies to monitor and ensure compliance with all NCAA and conference rules and regulations. Being an Athletic Compliance Manager verifies student eligibility to participate in university athletics. Investigates and reviews alleged NCAA and conference rule violations and communicates findings to appropriate parties. Additionally, Athletic Compliance Manager serves as a liaison between the athletic program and the NCAA. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Athletic Compliance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Athletic Compliance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
