Requirements and Responsibilities

Clinical Education Director directs and leads the team responsible for conducting on-site education and consulting to clinicians and medical staff. Creates and implements the overall strategy for the clinical education department. Being a Clinical Education Director establishes and creates policies to ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and guidelines. Stays up to date with the latest developments in the medical field and maintains a working knowledge of best practices in clinical education. Additionally, Clinical Education Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Clinical Education Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
