Requirements and Responsibilities

Consumer Lending Manager manages the team responsible for evaluating, approving, and managing consumer loans. Monitors loan applications and analyzes applicants' financial statements and credit histories to determine creditworthiness and repayment potential. Being a Consumer Lending Manager reviews loan terms and conditions and ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate. Monitors existing loan portfolios to identify risks, ensure compliance, and support timely repayment. Additionally, Consumer Lending Manager may specialize in one product line (auto, personal, etc.) or may be diversified. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Consumer Lending Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Consumer Lending Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
