Credit Policy Manager manages the Credit Policy function that develops and governs lending and credit decisions across products. Establishes loan underwriting criteria, risk frameworks, and approval guidelines. Being a Credit Policy Manager monitors market conditions for emerging risks that may require policy changes. Implements quality control measures to ensure regulatory compliance and provide documentation standards and processes. Additionally, Credit Policy Manager collaborates with other functions within the credit policy committee, including underwriting, risk, portfolio management, legal, product development, and finance, to ensure that credit policies align with the organization's objectives, are effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders, and that credit approval decisions comply with policies and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a director. The Credit Policy Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Credit Policy Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
