Requirements and Responsibilities

DME Technician is responsible for a facility's durable medical equipment. Duties include selecting and ordering equipment and ensuring equipment delivery to facility and appropriate users. Being a DME Technician tests and maintains equipment to ensure proper functionality. Provides training on use of equipment. Additionally, DME Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The DME Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a DME Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
