Environmental & Employee Safety Supervisor coordinates the programs, processes, and controls that protect employees from hazardous workplace conditions. Conducts regular inspections and audits to identify hazardous conditions and implements processes and policies to ensure worker health and safety. Being an Environmental & Employee Safety Supervisor evaluates projects to identify potential risks or hazards and recommends protective actions, equipment, or controls. Takes samples and measurements to evaluate conditions and coordinates the removal of hazardous materials, equipment, or conditions. Additionally, Environmental & Employee Safety Supervisor trains and educates employees about safety policies, programs, and regulatory requirements to ensure awareness of environmental hazards and workplace safety. Investigates accidents and worker concerns to identify root causes and recommend processes and controls to correct issues and prevent recurrence. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Environmental & Employee Safety Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Environmental & Employee Safety Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
