Requirements and Responsibilities

Environmental Engineering Technician I conducts analysis of soil, groundwater, or atmospheric samples to determine if pollutants are present and implements appropriate corrective action if necessary. Assists in the management, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data. Being an Environmental Engineering Technician I performs environmental compliance audits and risk assessments. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Environmental Engineering Technician I typically reports to a supervisor. The Environmental Engineering Technician I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
