Requirements and Responsibilities

Food Services Manager - Higher Ed. oversees the daily operations of the institution's food service function. Implements and maintains food service policies in dining halls. Being a Food Services Manager - Higher Ed. monitors inventory levels and purchases food, kitchen equipment, and other supplies as needed. Establishes quality standards for foods and maintains cleanliness of the facilities in accordance with state or local regulations. Additionally, Food Services Manager - Higher Ed. may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Food Services Manager - Higher Ed. manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Food Services Manager - Higher Ed. typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
