Requirements and Responsibilities

Food Services Supervisor supervises the daily operations of the organization's food service function. Maintains food storage level and reports when inventory is low. Being a Food Services Supervisor reviews menus and supervises the handling and preparation of food. Ensures quality standards for foods are followed. Additionally, Food Services Supervisor maintains cleanliness of working area and the facilities. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Food Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Food Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
