Requirements and Responsibilities

Industrial Engineering Director directs the design of industrial equipment and machine layouts to optimize production activities, minimize costs, and ensure products meet quality standards. Collaborates with senior leaders to plan facility modifications and process changes and ensure alignment with business objectives. Being an Industrial Engineering Director reviews and improves manufacturing routes for maximizing space, efficiency, and effectiveness, ensuring full utilization of resources. Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry safety standards and design guidelines. Additionally, Industrial Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Industrial Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Industrial Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
