International Trade Compliance Supervisor supports the establishment and implementation of import and export controls to ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations. Collaborates with marketing and supply chain functions to ensure the organization meets the legal requirements of all countries where the company does business. Being an International Trade Compliance Supervisor manages documentation processes to ensure that all required permits, licenses, and certifications are obtained. Monitors changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Additionally, International Trade Compliance Supervisor possesses in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of customs rules and regulations and other related requirements for global shipping. Resolves complex issues that have been escalated and expedites solutions with clients, customs officials, and shippers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The International Trade Compliance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an International Trade Compliance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
