Requirements and Responsibilities

Lean Manufacturing Specialist V utilizes lean principles to improve the operations and processes of a manufacturing organization. Analyzes production workflows, workspace design, and resource utilization to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or waste. Being a Lean Manufacturing Specialist V collects, documents, and interprets production data to identify areas to streamline and improve productivity. Develops metrics to measure and monitor key production processes and evaluates the impacts of lean principles against costs, quality, and delivery goals. Additionally, Lean Manufacturing Specialist V educates employees about lean concepts to ensure initiatives are integrated into workflows and processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Lean Manufacturing Specialist V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Lean Manufacturing Specialist V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
