Requirements and Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering Senior Supervisor oversees the design of parts, tools, engines, and other mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Also responsible for supervising the production, operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment. Being a Mechanical Engineering Senior Supervisor is responsible for managing projects and ensuring mechanical engineers take full advantage of modeling and manufacturing tools available to them and work collaboratively to complete projects. Ensures projects follow organizational best practices for design, prototyping, and testing. Additionally, Mechanical Engineering Senior Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Engineering Senior Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Mechanical Engineering Senior Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
