MEP Coordinator II coordinates and provides technical support for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drafting and design activities. Prepares, revises, and maintains MEP drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD and BIM software under the direction of engineering staff. Being an MEP Coordinator II compiles project documentation, equipment schedules, and submittals, and ensures drawing sets remain accurate and up to date. Coordinates with engineers, designers, and field personnel to resolve drafting discrepancies and incorporate design changes. Additionally, MEP Coordinator II reviews plans for conformance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications, and flags issues for engineering review. Responsible for accurate and complete version control, file management, and the organization of project records throughout the design phase. Requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The MEP Coordinator II works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be an MEP Coordinator II typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
