Requirements and Responsibilities

Mortgage Loan Processor I processes residential mortgage loan applications to ensure complete, accurate, and compliant loan files prior to underwriting and closing. Reviews transaction documentation, including income statements, credit reports, asset verification, and property information, to confirm eligibility and completeness. Being a Mortgage Loan Processor I coordinates with loan officers, underwriters, title companies, and borrowers to obtain required documentation and resolve file deficiencies. Prepares and maintains loan files within loan origination systems and tracks applications through the processing pipeline. Additionally, Mortgage Loan Processor I ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, investor requirements, and internal mortgage lending policies. Supports timely loan approvals and closings by maintaining accurate documentation and clear communication among all parties. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Mortgage Loan Processor I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
