Pathology Research Scientist V is responsible for designing, developing, and conducting pathology research projects and investigations. Examines diseases using fluids, body tissue, secretions, etc. to ascertain cause, nature, and extent of disease and to determine effectiveness of treatment. Being a Pathology Research Scientist V analyzes, interprets, and documents results. May publish study results in academic journals. Additionally, Pathology Research Scientist V stays current on new findings and best practices within pathology. Requires an advanced degree in pathology. Typically reports to a manager. The Pathology Research Scientist V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
