Requirements and Responsibilities

Physician - Occupational Medicine oversees the patient's diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and/or injuries. Examines patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Being a Physician - Occupational Medicine recommends tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury. Additionally, Physician - Occupational Medicine requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Physician - Occupational Medicine's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
