Requirements and Responsibilities

Product Quality Director directs product quality control and inspection activities for a manufacturing facility. Develops product quality strategies, goals, and processes to align business objectives and drive cost savings. Being a Product Quality Director collaborates with senior leaders to establish and integrate enterprise-wide quality objectives, standards, and governance across business functions. Monitors, evaluates, and improves inspection, testing, and compliance activities to ensure long-term product quality, compliance, and operational excellence. Additionally, Product Quality Director evaluates quality performance trends, risk assessments, and audit outcomes to guide strategic decision-making. Represents the quality control function in executive reviews, regulatory interactions, and customer engagements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Product Quality Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Product Quality Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
