Requirements and Responsibilities

Proofreader proofreads, reviews, and edits documents for accurate use of grammar and content. Corrects any grammatical, spelling, typographical, or compositional errors. Being a Proofreader documents errors for correction. Provides feedback to improve the original copy. Additionally, Proofreader typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Proofreader works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Proofreader typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
