Requirements and Responsibilities

Provider Relations Representative, Sr. supports, develops, and maintains service relationships with physicians, providers, and administrators of a provider network. Collects feedback from network stakeholders to survey satisfaction and facilitate communication. Being a Provider Relations Representative, Sr. responds to inquiries about referrals, eligibility, credentialing, and other policy matters and escalates or directs complex questions as necessary. Tracks and documents inquiries to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and creates routine reports to identify trends for management. Additionally, Provider Relations Representative, Sr. trains healthcare providers and physicians on network operating policies and procedures to ensure optimal network service standards. May provide guidance or expertise to less experienced representatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Provider Relations Representative, Sr. occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be a Provider Relations Representative, Sr. typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
