Requirements and Responsibilities

Radiology Aide assists radiologic technologists and department supervisors by performing a variety of administrative and patient care activities. Receives and transports patients, and answers questions regarding procedures. Being a Radiology Aide prepares the imaging room and equipment for x-ray examinations and assists technologist with procedures as needed. Performs related clerical duties, including data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records. Additionally, Radiology Aide requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Radiology Aide works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Radiology Aide typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.
