Requirements and Responsibilities

Refinery Operator I controls equipment systems that process natural gas or petroleum into specified products. Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure safe and efficient operations. Being a Refinery Operator I adjusts temperature, pressure, and flow as needed to maintain optimal process conditions. Performs routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of equipment. Additionally, Refinery Operator I maintains logs and complies with safety and environmental regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Refinery Operator I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
