Sales Engineering Manager manages teams of engineers that advise and support sales teams with pricing estimates and implementation guidance based on customer requirements. Provides analysis of customers' technical specifications and recommends the best product configuration and installation process. Being a Sales Engineering Manager utilizes technical knowledge of product configurations to draft sales proposals and customer-specific pricing. Estimates the costs, resources, time, and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing the product or solution. Additionally, Sales Engineering Manager develops and delivers technical product presentations or sales briefings for potential customers. Collaborates with implementation teams to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions or deliver customer training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Sales Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Sales Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
