Requirements and Responsibilities

Threat Assessment Manager manages a group that assesses risks and threats such as crime or terrorism to protect an organization's employees, property, affairs, brand, and events. Establishes methodologies for identifying and researching new potential threats using public and private information, open-source intelligence (OSINT), and other effective research techniques. Being a Threat Assessment Manager leads the creation of clear, effective, and proactive plans for avoiding or mitigating newly emerged or evolving threats. Makes level-headed decisions in crises. Additionally, Threat Assessment Manager investigates incidents that expose potential issues in current organizational security plans and procedures. Alerts top management or business partners about relevant threats. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or top management. The Threat Assessment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Threat Assessment Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
