Requirements and Responsibilities

Transportation Clerk IV monitors and supports an organization's transportation operations to reduce costs and optimize operational procedures. Tracks and monitors shipment progress to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Being a Transportation Clerk IV maintains and updates Transportation Management Systems to track and streamline operations and ensure timely decision-making. Prepares and maintains bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Additionally, Transportation Clerk IV ensures operations comply with safety requirements and federal transportation laws. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Transportation Clerk IV independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. To be a Transportation Clerk IV typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.
