Requirements and Responsibilities

Veterinarian is responsible for providing healthcare to animals. Identifies and treats illnesses, injuries, and diseases. Being a Veterinarian conducts check-up exams, performs surgeries, administers vaccines, and prescribes medications. Advises animal owners about preventative care, diet, and behavioral conditions. Additionally, Veterinarian requires a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine. Requires State License. Typically reports to may report to a clinic director. Veterinarian's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
