Requirements and Responsibilities

VP of Information Technology leads and oversees the implementation, maintenance, and administration of information systems and equipment in accordance with organizational goals and business objectives. Defines and prioritizes business needs, develops initiatives, and drives the strategic planning and road mapping of IT projects. Being a VP of Information Technology provides leadership, innovation, and oversight to ensure the integration of business needs and processes with IT systems, applications, and networks. Establishes and approves operating policies and procedures to ensure computer equipment, hardware, and software operate in alignment with organizational needs and standards. Additionally, VP of Information Technology monitors performance reports and user feedback to develop insights and strategies for operational and business initiatives. May require a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The VP of Information Technology manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a VP of Information Technology typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
