Requirements and Responsibilities

VP of Systems Administration is responsible for and leads the overall maintenance and technical support functions of operating system environments and various computer systems for an organization. Defines and prioritizes department needs, manages initiatives, and drives strategies. Being a VP of Systems Administration utilizes system performance reports to identify potential issues and develop potential solutions. Develops department budget, monitors and allocates resources, and researches and evaluates technological improvements. Additionally, VP of Systems Administration collaborates with senior leadership in various departments to ensure organizational goals are met. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The VP of Systems Administration manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a VP of Systems Administration typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.
