Assistant Youth Instructor
Seeking a motivated individual with a creative background to assist in youth art classes in our Oakhurst,
Pineville, and Davidson locations. Our studios offer a positive and rewarding team environment. Holt
School teaches fine art techniques in pastels, watercolor, charcoal and oil painting. Responsibilities will
include learning and teaching our methods of creating art and daily studio upkeep.
Our youth classes are after school hours and Saturday mornings. Applicants must be available to work Friday afternoon/evenings and Saturday mornings in addition to training on weekday afternoons.
Job Responsibilities:
-Promote a positive and welcoming environment for students and families
-Attend weekly training sessions to learn the Holt School method of teaching
-Able to drive to any of our three locations to assist where needed
-Provide individual instruction to youth ages 8-18 under guidance of the Lead Instructor using Holt School Methods
-Arrive before classes to perform cleaning duties and discuss daily goals with the Lead Instructor
-Perform closing duties including cleaning and resetting the classroom for the next day
-Carefully maintain student artwork while in progress or on display in our student gallery
Qualifications (preferred but not required):
-Have a background in visual art, a degree in visual art, or in pursuit of an art degree
-Experience using pastels, watercolor, charcoal, or oil paint
-Experience working with children
Compensation: starts at $14hr DOE 25-30 hours per week
This position has potential to grow into a salaried position.
