Description
Summary
Kent Power is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team as the company takes steps toward creating a world-class accounting department. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for month-end prep and reporting, state compliance, and supporting the accounting team with daily tasks.
Essential Functions

- Assist with the daily operations of the accounting department
- Prepare and review various financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Credit card reconciliations and reporting
- Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger analysis
- Assist with union payroll entry and reporting requirements
- Assist with audit requests, including annual financial statement audits, payroll audits, bank audits, and sales/use tax audits
- Various state compliance requirements
- Sales and Use Tax Filings
- Assist other family-owned entities as needed
- Respond to all internal and external requests in a timely manner
- Provides exceptional and accurate internal and external customer service
- Other projects or tasks as needed

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree
- Two years of related experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years of related experience
- Proven working experience as an Accounting Supervisor/Manager or Assistant Controller
