Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Ensuring the efficiency of daily treatment center operations.
    • Ensuring treatment center compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
    • Implementing BHG policies and procedures ensuring key performance
    • Communication with medical team members, corporate team members federal and state agencies, patients and families.
    • Overseeing all personnel issues within the treatment center; including hiring new team members and evaluating current team members.
    • Ensuring a strong management team and the ability to delegate.
    • Developing treatment center culture with shared beliefs, goals and values.
    Qualifications:
    • 3-5 years of Healthcare Management experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
    • Desire to provide compassionate, evidenced-based care that aligns with our mission
    In addition to meeting the qualifications, the ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics and possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below:
    • Must have sufficient knowledge of the substance abuse population, treatment planning and the field of human social services to work toward the rehabilitation of the patient community
    • Aptitude for science backed decision making and use proper judgment with confidential and sensitive issues
    • Background of dealing appropriately with patients and team members in stressful or other undesirable situations with an ability to seek direction from supervisors when necessary
    • Efficient Self-starter with strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
    • High integrity and sound judgement; able to react quickly and make effective decisions
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Demonstrate basic computer/word processing skills
