Job Summary:
Lead Medical Assistant needed for high-volume Cardiology practice! Requires High School diploma or equivalent. Requires Minimum of one year of medical assistant experience in a healthcare setting, two years’ medical assistant experience preferred. Experience with eClinical Works [eCW] helpful. Knowledge of Cardiology is helpful. BLS certification required.
Duties include, but not limited to:
· Establish and monitor effective and efficient clinical processes to ensure high quality care and patient satisfaction.
· Oversee and maintain daily clinic assignment.
· Provide direct supervision to medical assistants with the assistance of the clinic manager, ensuring appropriate assessment and treatment of patient health.
· Collaborate with administrative staff and physicians to optimize efficiency of a variety of related services ranging from inpatient care to outpatient follow-up care.
· Hold clinical staff accountable to Heartland policies, and office, operational, and safety procedures and protocols - addressing hazards and unsafe practices in accordance with Heartland policies and procedures.
· Responsible for conducting disciplinary counseling according to company policies and procedure with assistance from clinic manager.
· Provides supervision of MA staff to include assigning tasks, providing performance feedback, managing time off and scheduling needs, hiring, and training, and serving as a role model of professional practice standards through leading by example, educating, mentoring, and coaching staff.
· Assure compliance with the requirements of licensing boards. Maintain knowledge of department and medical center activities, policies and procedures, and federal and state regulations.
· Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
· Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
As well as occasionally assist with rooming patients, taking patient vitals, updating patient medications, entering data into EMR, supporting the clinic nurse with referrals, cardiac clearances, phone calls, chart prep, etc. Travel to Satellite Offices and Out of town travel to Outreach clinics is a requirement for this position.
