Childbirth Educator provides instruction and education to patients planning to give birth. Presents curriculum in a group setting. Being a Childbirth Educator reviews class material and recommends changes based on educational standards. May assist in developing new content. Additionally, Childbirth Educator may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Childbirth Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Role:
The two main goals are to increase family stability and to reduce incidents of child abuse and neglect. We serve as the Region VIII Family Resource Center (FRC), which serves the Northwest Louisiana Region. The FRC offers a continuum of services to families brought to the attention of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). These services include Nurturing Parenting Skills, Resource and Referral Management, Community Outreach.

Qualifications:
You must possess a Bachelor of Social Work degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field. Examples of related fields are psychology; mental health counseling; psychological counseling; sociology; human service counseling; family and consumer sciences with a concentration in child, family, social services; guidance and counseling; human development counseling; or social services counseling.
A good driving record and adequate insurance is required.
