Clinical Data Specialist jobs in Bakersfield, CA
Clinical Data Specialist designs and maintains clinical quality databases. Queries databases, creates reports and analyzes data to comply with regulatory reporting requirements and support improvements in clinical effectiveness. Being a Clinical Data Specialist defines and tests new measures, validates data, and takes steps to automate and improve the data collection process. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Data Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Clinical Data Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Description
Under the direction of the Director of HIM, maintains the processes for various data submissions to regulatatory agencies such as CMS, Joint Commission, and Office of Statewide Health Planning. Assists with special projects, report generation and data gathering activities for Inpatient and Outpatient services. The HIM Data Specialist will participate in the development and maintenance of operational policies and procedures to insure compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements. The HIM Data Specialist is able to communicate effectively and demonstrates a positive attitude and customer services skills with physicians, staff, and patients. Is proficient in Microsoft Office and demonstrates advanced computer skills.
