Computer Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of an organization's computer operations. Implements department policies and procedures to effectively operate and maintain computer systems and peripherals. Being a Computer Operations Manager manages the operation of information system equipment including scheduling workflow, maintenance, and capacity plans. Continuously monitors the efficacy of computer operations, backup processes, system monitors, and server availability to ensure operation goals are met. Additionally, Computer Operations Manager researches and evaluates potential equipment upgrades to improve the capabilities of computer operations. Ensures computer operations activities meet pre-established production targets and maintain operating budgets. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Computer Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Computer Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     In January of 2023 LSO acquired J-Pac Medical (www.j-pacmedical.com), a Medical Device Contract Manufacturer based out of New Hampshire to expand LSOs geographic reach in the medical device arena. Due to the recent acquisition and with over 25 years of growth, we are currently seeking a self-motivated Operations Manager with a good positive energy to join our team at the New Hampshire Facility in Somersworth.

    The Operations Manager role is to ensure that the organization delivers products and services that meet customer expectations and specifications, ensuring quality products and services are delivered on time and within budget.

    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. other duties may be assigned

    • Develop and implement strategic Lean Manufacturing operating systems applicable to contract manufacturing and in-house production, including documented work standards, 5S/workplace organization, Kaizen/Continuous Improvement, efficient work flows/waste elimination, visual management aids, and the development of Key Process Indicators (KPI) and subsequent action plans to address unfavorable gaps and trends;
    • Collaborates with the New Product Development Team to ensure the effective product/process verification and validation for new and existing products, and efficiently transitions new products through a gated process from innovation/product development through pilot production and full-scale manufacturing;
    • Ensure team compliance to the standards and policies of the Quality Management System, including organizational adherence to the ISO 13485 registration standards. Ensures that all processes and procedures contained are documented and updated in the Quality Manual on a periodic basis, and that surveillance audits are conducted to ensure relevancy and compliance.
    • Develop and manage the global supply chain program, ensuring comprehensive supplier quality specifications and cost targets are established and monitored. Utilize best-in-class tools, including ERP and MRP systems, to ensure adequate product supply and finished goods stocking levels;
    • Establish objective performance objectives for supply chain/contract manufacturing partners, and conducts periodic audits of suppliers and contract manufacturing partners;
    • Develop and manage manufacturing and supply chain operating budgets;
    • Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure production/supply chain alignment and cost structure to achieve corporate objectives for products and services;
    • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners; identify strategic partnerships and opportunities for improving product quality, cost, and delivery;
    • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout product quality, delivery and the overall customer and patient experience;
    • Recruit, hire, train, direct, motivate, assess Production Team associates;
    • Direct production and supply chain activities and set performance goals accordingly;
    • Ensure the overall occupational safety and well-being of team members in their roles; ensures compliance to all applicable local, state, and federal occupational safety programs.
    • Facilitates frequent communication, collaboration, and alignment with contracted nearshore facility in Cartago, Costa Rica (Itek).

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelors Degree in engineering or Business preferred.
    • 10 years progressively successful experience in Lean Manufacturing and operational leadership roles, preferably with expertise in FDA-regulated industries.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • PC literacy, ability to work with basic software and spreadsheets; experienced with ERP systems.
    • Possess high level of energy.
    • Innovative, creative thinker.
    • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement systems expertise
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • Ability to develop and deliver meaningful programs of instruction / training aids.
    • Highly motivated with ability to motivate others.
    • Strong self-confidence with ability to project professional appearance.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
    • Organized with strong record keeping and follow-up skills.
    • Strong regard for exceptional customer service, ability to address and resolve customer problems.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • The work environment is that found in a traditional office setting with primary overhead lighting.
    • The room temperature is controlled automatically, and the air quality is good.
