Real Americas Voice News has an opening for a Technical Director (TD)/Production Technician to help manage the daily production of both live television and recorded materials.

The primary area of responsibility for the Technical Director is switching a live or recorded show using a Tricaster switcher board. They also lead or help production teams during a show to keep everything on track. Live event or television technical direction (video) experience is needed for the successful candidate. Must have operational experience and familiarity with live event switching, TV direction in a live environment and an understanding of the live TV production work flow.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in live events or TV production, who is familiar with a studio workflow, who is able to troubleshoot and think fast.

A Production Technician assists the TD with technical aspects of the show. They handle most backend stuff during the broadcast such as running prompter, coordinating with skype guests, running audio, and working with remote crews.

Understanding of NDI/NDI Tools workflow and capabilities

Other responsibilities include switching video sources through a video matrix switcher, performing live digital effects and transitions, plus insertion of pre-recorded and live material and graphics as instructed by the Producer.

This position is responsible for ensuring all equipment/facilities are checked out and ready prior to recording sessions and live broadcasts.

-The TD is responsible for providing input into the creative side of the production on both the video and audio aspects of the programming.

-The TD is responsible for the technical quality of the signal being recorded or broadcast and will use various measuring devices and displays to ensure quality control.

-Familiarity with Newtek Tricaster Switchers is preferred but not required.

-This position also includes Video Editing duties so familiarity with Adobe CC to edit field packages from raw materials is required.

-This is a very team-oriented environment so the ability to work well with others is a must.

-This is a very fast paced live studio environment so the ability to think on your feet is a must.

-This is a full-time position and require working assigned shifts on weekends.

-Tuesday - Saturday

-Need to have flexibility with weekend schedule.

- Occasional 10 - 12 hour shifts on Saturdays for live event programming.
