The Director of Housekeeping conducts inspections of facilities and recommends repairs and upgrades when needed. Directs and coordinates the daily operations of a housekeeping services department to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Being a Director of Housekeeping may create quality standards and monitors the implementation. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. In addition, Director of Housekeeping may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Director of Housekeeping typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for ensuring the operation of the Housekeeping Department in an
attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service and a clean and safe
environment throughout their stay, while efficiently managing expenses and maximizing service levels.Education & Experience:
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at
- Supervisory experience required.
- Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets, and word processing.

- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-orientedmanner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Expotel Hospitality Service standards, as required by
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform
- Comply at all times with Expotel Hospitality Service standards and regulations to encourage safe and
- Respond to all guest's requests, problems complaints, and/or accidents arising in person or through
Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance to Expotel Hospitality Service Standard of the Week training, using the steps to
- Establish and maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program (i.e. floor care, hard cleaning, mattress
- Maintain and control all housekeeping equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate Risk Management standards (MSDS, HazComm, etc.).
- Conduct monthly guest supplies and cleaning supplies inventories.
- Ensure that large guestroom turns are managed efficiently.
- Ensure consistency with departmental opening and closing procedures.
- Prepare and conduct all Housekeeping interviews and follow hiring procedures according to Expotel
- Develop employee morale and ensure training of Housekeeping personnel.
- Inspect rooms daily, and ensure that some rooms are inspected with supervisors on a daily basis.
- Inspect all VIP rooms prior to arrival.
- Ensure that public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas are cleaned to Expotel Hospitality Service
- Maintain required pars of all Housekeeping and Laundry supplies by ordering all needed supplies and
- Conduct monthly and quarterly Housekeeping inventories on a timely basis.
