JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): Provides indirect care in the department setting under the direction of the Charge Nurse. Transcribes orders from records, faxes to appropriate destination. Performs detailed and accurate assignments and compiles information to ensure accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 2 years hospital experience preferred. Medical terminology is strongly recommended. Previous experience in clerical or receptionist position required.
EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED preferred. Completes all mandatory review/education as required and assigned.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: None.
Aptitudes: Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.
