Exercise Specialist identifies risk factors and designs specialized strength and conditioning programs for patients. Teaches patients proper exercise techniques. Being an Exercise Specialist educates patient and family members on proper techniques for transitioning from a hospital-based fitness program to a safe and effective home exercise program. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science. Additionally, Exercise Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Exercise Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     THE POSITION:
    Our Exercise Specialists are one of the most integral positions in our company and are not only responsible for assisting patients with exercise plans and modalities - but play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships and driving the patient experience. This is the ideal role for anyone who has received their undergraduate degree and would like to gain experience in a clinical setting prior to apply or attending PT/OT school or other medical program. With 35 locations we connect our exercise specialist globally and regionally for development and collaboration opportunities.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
    • High school diploma (Bachelors degree in related field preferred)
    • Experience in a customer facing position
    • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate body mechanics, functional movement, and exercises
    • Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA laws and compliance regulations
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Physical activity including but not limited to bending, reaching, squatting, lifting and prolonged periods of standing.
    • Ability to properly transfer patients with use of good body mechanics while maintaining patient safety.
    • Required to work at an SSPHT facility and be responsible for your own transportation to and from work site.
    • Potential exposure to virus, disease, and infections from patients in the working environment.
    • Ability to perform custodial duties using medical grade cleaning products - including but not limited to - cleaning bathrooms, laundry, and disinfection of exercise equipment.
    • Work for extended periods of time at a video display terminal and will be required to use a keyboard to enter and gather information.
    • Work schedule will be based on the needs of SSPHT
    PAY & BENEFITS INFORMATION:
    • Base salary:$17-$20 per hour depending on experience and location of clinic
