Instructor - Nursing teaches courses in the discipline area of nursing. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Nursing provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research. Position Summary InformationGeneral Description of PositionUnder the general supervision of the Associate Dean and the Program Chair, the adjunct instructor will provide instruction to students in various courses which could include face-to-face, online, laboratory, and/or clinical settings. The adjunct instructor may serve as a coordinator for a group of courses or be the lead instructor for a course or courses with the program.
SCHEDULE
Teaching assignments for this position are scheduled and approved by the College, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in nursing working towards a Master’s in Nursing, to be completed within six (6) years.
- Current Nebraska registered nurse license or must obtain licensure in Nebraska by the date of hire.
- Two (2) years experience in nursing.
- Maintain health requirements for clinical sites.
Desired Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.
