LIBRARIAN develops and maintains a collection of books and other materials and provides research and reference support to library users. Researches publications and suggests new sources and offerings for acquisition to enhance the collection. Being a LIBRARIAN performs cataloging and creates bibliographies and metadata to classify the library's collection of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other materials. Designs and delivers research support processes and services to ensure that groups and individuals can access requested materials. Additionally, LIBRARIAN distributes up-to-date information on new acquisitions, library activities, and services. Oversees the selection and maintenance of technology infrastructure and tools used in the library. Requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. The LIBRARIAN occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.       Description: MSAD #11 is currently seeking a team oriented, energetic, and creative educator to join the Gardiner Area High School teaching staff as a Librarian. The GAHS Library Commons is a welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic space for students and staff. The librarian ensures that students and staff have an enriched library environment containing a wide variety and range of materials that will invite intellectual growth and aid all students in acquiring the skills needed to take full advantage of the library resources. The school's librarian will work closely with faculty as a collaborative partner to co-plan and co-teach, in some cases, across content areas. Through the partnership, the librarian will support staff by curating resources from databases, museums, and the Library of Congress to strengthen learning and support students' skill development.

      Additional Information: The successful candidate has the ability to Assist students and staff in selecting appropriate resources and access and evaluate intellectual content; Maintains awareness of evolving technology to anticipate the needs of the educational community; and maintains an efficient system of classifying, cataloging, and circulating all library materials to ensure equity of access.
